Overview
The media writer of today has to hone creative skills which meet the needs of film, television and radio. These are very different mediums of expression from the printed word. The digital age has created new and exciting forms of creative expression.
Media writing students now learn how to write short webisodes for online drama, mobisodes for mobile phones, animation scripts, panels for comics and graphic fiction, digital writing and Twitter Fiction, interactive fiction and cross-platform concepts.
The new digital genres are accessible to everyone and will bring a democracy to creativity and those who can create. As marketers being able to seize the opportunities that these new forms of media can bring are essential - especially when more traditional communication methods are under threat, with ever reducing marketing budgets.
