Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are government-funded programmes in which graduates‚ supported by University experts‚ deliver strategic or tactical business projects critical to your future success.

Bournemouth University (BU) has considerable experience in managing and delivering KTPs that have provided significant business benefits to the companies we have worked with.

Through a KTP at BU, your business can recruit a skilled graduate, known as a KTP Associate, and simultaneously access support from our world-class experts.

Classic KTP

A Classic KTP lasts for a period of 6 – 36 months and the Associate will work on a strategic project identified as critical to the future success and growth of the business.

The Associate has the support of specialist academic knowledge to ensure successful delivery.

KTP grants

If your business can identify a project of critical importance to its future success and will benefit from being supported with specialist university expertise or knowledge‚ you may be eligible for a KTP grant.

A Classic KTP provides 67% Government funding to support the transfer of university expertise into small and medium sized enterprises and 50% funding for large organisations.

Award-winning KTP programmes

On average‚ over 1000 KTP programmes between businesses and universities are taking place at any one time across the UK. BU has twice been shortlisted for a prestigious national KTPs award for its partnerships with Safeaim and Bournemouth Churches Housing Association and won the award for the Best KTP in the South West of England for 2008.
